Attractive mementos were distributed to all the reserved passengers of 18615 Howrah-Hatia Express which left Howrah at 10.20 p.m. on19-10-12. These mementos were distributed as a part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Computerised Passenger Reservation System(PRS) in Kolkata.Howrah-Ranchi-Hatia Express was the first train which came under the Computerised Passenger Reservation System in 1987.
Shri Pramod Kumar, Addl. General Manager handed over the first memento in presence of Shri J.N.Jha, Chief Commercial Manager, S.E.Railway. Altogether 950 mementoes were distributed to the passengers having confirmed reservation in AC First Class, AC-2 tier, AC-3 tier and Sleeper Class. The memento which was presented to the passengers was a beautifully designed paper weight with logo of Computerised PRS and a photograph of S.E.Railway Head Quarters Building.
Shri Pramod Kumar, Addl. General Manager while presenting the mementos mentioned about the co-operation received from the passengers during the initial stages of introduction of Computerised PRS. He said that it was a difficult task to switch from manual ticketing system to computerized reservation process and would not have been possible without the wholehearted co-operation of the passengers.
