The heavy rainfall experienced in Gujarat and the water released from Machhu dam has resulted in water logging at various parts of the state, causing washout of tracks in certain sections. Shri A. K. Gupta – General Manager of Western Railway along with Shri Dinesh Kumar – Divisional Railway Manager of Ahmedabad Division and with other Senior officers inspected flood affected Viramgam – Samakhayali section and reviewed the damage and ongoing restoration work on 30th July, 2017.
The restoration work was affected as lots of difficulties were faced in transportation of men & material due to continuous & heavy rainfall in the areas. But, due to the commendable efforts of the railway staff along with personal monitoring of the restoration works by Shri A. K. Gupta – General Manager, Western Railway along with Shri Dinesh Kumar – Divisional Railway Manager of Ahmedabad Division and his team of senior officers, the affected sections will be cleared at the earliest and the traffic will be put back into the tracks.
However, due to current situation some trains have been cancelled/ partially cancelled /short terminated/ diverted, as follows:-

8. Train No. 74838 Palanpur – Jodhpur DEMU will originate from Raniwara and will be partially cancelled between Palanpur – Raniwara from 2nd August, 2017 to 7th August, 2017..
9. Train No. 11092 Pune – Bhuj Express of 31st July, 2017 will be short terminated at Ahmedabad and will be reversed as Train No. 11091 Bhuj – Pune Express of 2nd August, 2017. Hence Train No. 11091 / 11092 Bhuj–Pune will remain cancelled between Ahmedabad – BHUJ – Ahmedabad.
