With a view to clearing the rush of passengers during the festival season, the Northern Railway has decided to run a special train from Chandigarh to Ludhiana and vice versa on a daily basis from September 1 to November 15.Besides, the railway will also run a special train from Ambala to Saharanpur between September 1 and November 15.
The Chandigarh-Ludhiana train will depart from Ludhiana at 9 am and reach Chandigarh at 12.10 pm the same day.The train will depart from Chandigarh at 1 pm and reach Ludhiana at 3.25 pm. It will stop at Dhandari Kalan, Sanehwal, Lalkalan, Samrala, Khumano, New Morinda, Kharar and Mohali stations.The second train will start from Saharanpur at 4.45 am and reach Ambala at 6.30 am the same day. In the return direction, it will depart from Ambala at 8.45 pm to reach Saharanpur at 10.40 pm. Meanwhile, the railway has also revised the timing of eight trains running from Chandigarh that will come into effect from September 1.
Even as Shatabdi trains were not touched in the new timetable, the timing of daily Chandigarh-Amritsar superfast express has been advanced by 15 minutes as it will now depart at 5.10 pm instead of 5.25 pm. The Chandigarh-Lucknow train will now leave the local station at 9.10 pm, 20 minutes late from its current timing (8.50 pm) and accordingly take more time reaching its final destination. On the other hand, the timing of the Chandigarh-Ajmer train has been advanced by 20 minutes, revised from current 9.10 pm to 8.50 pm.
The timing of the Chandigarh-Amritsar inter-city express has also been revised from 6.55 am to 7 am. The departure time of the Chandigarh-Delhi Janshatabdi Express has also been revised to 7.38 am from 7.33 am. The timing of the Himalayan Queen Kalka-Chandigarh-Delhi train has been revised from 5.28 pm to 5.30 pm.
